Connecting Your Custom Domain in CaterCloud
The Website Builder lets you publish your catering site under your own domain (for example, yourbusiness.com.au) so clients land somewhere that looks entirely yours. This guide is for any CaterCloud user who has already purchased a domain and wants to point it at their site.
Before You Start
- Your site must be created in the Website Builder before you can attach a domain.
- You'll need login access to your domain registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Crazy Domains).
- No domain yet? You can skip this and publish to your free
*.catercloud.ioaddress — that's enough to share quotes and take bookings straight away.
Step 1 — Open the Domain Panel
- From your CaterCloud dashboard, navigate to Website Builder.
- Open the Domain panel within the editor.
- Enter your custom domain in the domain field and confirm.
Step 2 — Add the DNS Records at Your Registrar
CaterCloud will display the DNS records you need to add. Log in to your registrar and create each one:
- CNAME record — points your domain (or
wwwsubdomain) to the CaterCloud target address shown in the panel. - A record (if required) — points the root domain to the IP address listed.
Copy the values exactly as shown — spacing and punctuation matter.
Step 3 — Wait for Verification
Once saved at your registrar:
- Each record shows a pending status in the domain panel.
- As CaterCloud detects each record, it ticks off to verified — this typically takes a few minutes but can take up to 48 hours depending on your registrar.
- When all records are verified, your site goes live on your custom domain automatically.
If You Get Stuck
- Double-check you haven't added extra characters or spaces when pasting record values.
- Some registrars add your domain automatically to CNAME values — remove any duplication if so.
- Re-opening the domain panel refreshes the verification status.
> Tip: Once your domain is live, head back into the Website Builder to make sure your contact and booking links are working correctly end-to-end.
