Menu items and packages

CaterCloud's menu system lets you build a product catalogue of items and packages that attach to events and auto-populate quotes.

Adding a menu item

1. Go to Menu → Items → New Item
2. Enter: name, description, sell price, cost price, category (e.g. Canapes, Mains, Beverage)
3. Set dietary tags (Vegetarian, Vegan, GF, Halal, etc.) — these appear on quotes
4. Add an image (optional — shown in the client-facing online menu)
5. Click Save

Menu packages

A package bundles multiple items at a per-head price. Useful for set menus.

1. Go to Menu → Packages → New Package
2. Name it (e.g. "2-Hour Canape Package")
3. Add items and set quantities
4. Set the per-head sell price and cost price
5. Save and attach to events

Attaching menu to an event

Open an event → Menu tab → Add Items or Add Package. The items' cost prices flow into the event P&L and sell prices populate the quote.

Recipe costing

For menu items with detailed cost structures, use Menu → Items → [item] → Recipe. Add ingredients with quantities and unit costs. CaterCloud calculates the total cost price automatically.

Dietary filtering

Clients can filter your online menu by dietary requirement. Make sure dietary tags are set accurately on every item.

Menus and packages per outlet

If you run multiple outlets (e.g. different food trucks with different menus), assign menus to specific outlets in Menu → Assign to Outlet.
